Lion Brewery 002

Lion Brewery, Litle Harwood. Originally Nuttall's Brewery, it was owned by brewers Matthew Brown, itself taken over by Scottish and Newcastle Brewery in 1987. Despite solemn undertakings given at the time of the takeover, within four years brewing ceased on the site. The building was occupied for a few years by a dairy company, but has since been demolished and the site is now occupied by housing.rnMarch 1991.
