Town Hall Tower Block 007
b04683. The Town Hall Tower Block under construction. The cost of the project at the time was £650,000. The old Town Hall and tower block are connected by an elevated, enclosed footbridge. The tower block is about 198 feet (60 m) high with the top being 545 feet (166 m) 9 inches (23 cm) above sea-level. Since it was built it has been totally re-clad. The clock tower which replaced the old market clock tower can be seen the the third floor. Date 2nd April 1968. D. 52
