Town Hall Tower Block 014

b04695. The Town Hall Tower Block under construction. The cost of the project at the time was £650,000. The old Town Hall and tower block are connected by an elevated, enclosed footbridge. The tower block is about 198 feet (60 m) high with the top being 545 feet (166 m) 9 inches (23 cm) above sea-level. Since it was built it has been totally re-clad. The building is almost finished now. The Market and Thwaites brewery is shown. Date 4th October 1968.
