Peppermint Place Refurbishment 006
img0539-026P. Peppermint Place comprised two separate clubs, each of which was largely self-contained, with its own bars, dancefloors, and DJs. This meant that when the smaller of the two rooms – Kaleidoscope – closed for refurbishment in early 1991, the main room could remain open whilst the work was ongoing next door. One of Kaleidoscope’s two bars is pictured here in the early stages of the work. This is Neon Bar, which was at the top-end of the room nearest the main entrance. The photos Refurbishment 010 and 016 were taken from the same spot as work progressed.
