It was a horizonyal twin tandem triple expansion engine. made by Foster Yates and Thoms, in 1901. it has 25 1/2in -38in and 2 42 5/8in by 5ft 6in Corliss cylinders and is 1700 h.p 65 1/2 r.p.m. 180 p.s.i. The two engines are called Queen Alexander and King Edward VII. It was converted to electric driving in 1963. Photograph taken in 1958. M. 209
