The tram infront of the London Assurance building has black-out headlamps, while the Corporation double deck bus in front of it has tape on the windows as a precaution against bomb blast, with narrow slits for passengers to see out. There is white painted edges on the mudguard in confomity with the blackout rules. Only one of the Corporation fleet of buses had this anti-blast treatment to the windows. The Photograph was taken in 1942, at the height of World War 2. N. 163.
