Boundary Mill, Little Harwood.rnWilliam Thompson's (of Daisy Street shed) mill built in 1879, 300 looms employing 120 operatives. Exteneded c1890 and 1902-03 to hold 600 looms. The mill wove shirtings, jaconettes and mulls. Thompson, Riley and Co Ltd, formed 1897, William Thompson and Sons continued in business at Newton Heath. After the former company's lease expired in 1927, weaving ended. Converted to garage and coach depot soon after, rnRemains: most of the site is occupied by the transport depot of Lion Brewery. A small portion of the weaving shed can be seen at the north east corner of the present building. rnMike Rothwell
