b05163. Steam engine at E. and G. Hindle, Bastfield Mill. It is a vertical single cylinder non-condenser engine. Made by B. Goodfellows, Hyde, in 1851. It has 5in by 1ft slide valve cylinder and is about 10 h.p 90 r.p.m. 130 p.s.i. It was once the oldest small engine in regular use. Date of photograph 1959. M. 209.
