Wharf Street or Prospect Mill, Eanam.rnThe first of a number of factories built by William Forrest, flagger and slater. Forrest intended to build a weaving and spinning mill but only the shed of 1854 was completed. Various people ran the mill over the years including Richard Birtwistle. The mill closed in 1972. Ruins remain alongside the canal. rnMike Rothwell.
