Waterfield Mill Darwen 007
Waterfield Mill, Darwen.rnBuilt in 1897-98 by the Greenfield Mill Company. The shed was enlarged in 1909 by the addition of 300 looms. The mill operated in conjunction with Greenfield and produced the same type of fabrics. After World War 2, looms were replaced and reduced to 558. The steam engine was retained until closure. Weaving ended in 1959 under the Cotton Industry Act. The mill has since been used for various purposes. rnMike Rothwell
