This Cross Compound Condensing engine is located on the road side near India Mill, Darwen. It is a Horizontal cross compound condensing steam engine. Made by J and E. Woods, Bolton, in early 1900. It has 16in and 30in by 3ft 6in corliss valves and is 350 h.p. 80 r.p.m. 160 p.s.i. Date of photograph 1970. M. 209
