b24599. The church was opened on 30 August 1877 by Cardinal Manning. It was built to a design by Messrs. Goldie and Childe. The cost was about £12,000. The Church was situated on Cumberland Street at the corner of Mary Street in the Audley district. The Photograph was taken in July 1979 from William Hopwood Street. St. Joseph's school can been to the right of the Church. J1 Jos.
