b22795. Plantation Mill, Stanley Street was built in 1844-45 by W.H. and T.B. Turner, as a four storey spinning mill with 20,000 spindles. In 1912-13 the mill had 38, 968 ring spindles. The mill closed in 1959 and was later used as a warehouse. The photograph was taken from Appelby Street on the 3 February 1981. M. 31 Pla.
