Old Warehouse 003
b05600. An old warehouse in Clayton Street. This building was used by John Kay as a lock-up in 1808, and of particular interest is it shows clearly how the present brick front has been tied to earlier stone fabric. Note; on the top of the building is a girder used for the hoist to to take material to the various floors. The passage seen to the left of the warehouse gave access to Blackburn's first Borough Police Office. Date of photograph is 1953. M. 861.
