Paradise Mill 002

This spinning and weaving mill was built in 1846-47, and extended in 1852, by William Ashburn and Thomas Thwaites. 1856 there were 11,024 throstle spindles, 17,592 mule spindles and 504 looms. In1933 a portion of the mill was demolished, further demolition took place in the 1960's and 1978. Photograph taken in1973. M. 31 Par.
