India Mill Greenbank 001
India Mill, Greenbank, Blackburn.rnWeaving shed built 1854 by John C Hutton and Thomas R. Baynes, brother of John Baynes, Cicely Bridge Mill. Major additions were made to the shed in 1866 and 1870, increasing looms to 800. A final extensions by 74 looms was made 1888. T.F Baynes sold the mill to his nephew, Thomas Baynes Taylor in 1902. The mill ran throughout the 1920's and 1930's but did not reopen after World War 11. Taken over by Graham and Brown, wallpaper manufacturers, who still use the mill. rnMikre Rothwell.
