Jubilee Mill, Gate Street 007
b22829. Jubilee Mill Gate Street. The Mill dates from 1887 and had 570 looms. It produced dobby cloth and dhooties. Weaving finished in 1931. it later became an enineering shop. This mill, in 1912, was the site of a most horrific murder, when Alice Beetham had her throat cut by Aurther Birket who was hanged for the deed. M. 31 Jub.
