Darwen Mill Darwen.rnLarge spinning mill built 1850-52 by Eccles Shorrock and partners, W.B Huntington of Potters, purchased the mill in 1882 following the bankruptcy of Eccles Shorrock. Brother Company, and two years later leased to Walsh Brothers of Orchard Mill. Between 1888 and 1890 the mill was worked by Bolton Road Spinning Company. (Platt Brothers and Comapny). After six years closure spinning was restarted by Eccles Brothers of Bottomcroft Mill. The mill closed in 1930 and in 1933 was purchased by the Darwen Paper Mill Company Limited for storage purposes. This use ended in 1992. Three storey mill with nine gables. A combined water tower.rnMike Rothwell
