Bakehouse ovens adjoining the hospital Kitchen. As can be seen in the image, The heavy oven beds were wheeled in and out on cast-iron wheels. Residents were always presented with a birthday cake, baked by the in-house bakers.rnBrockhall Hospital opened in April 1904 as ‘Lancashire Inebriates Reformatory’ and closed in 1992.rnImage taken in 1986.
