b04136. The west entrance to the Cathedral showing the coat of arms of the Archbishop of Canterbury above the door, who was patron of the the living. On the right are those of the diocese of Chester in which the church was situated in 1826. On the door are, on the left the arms of the diocese of Blackburn and to the right the Cathedral symbol of the Virgin Mary, Paton Saint of the Cathedral whose heart was pierced by the crucifixtion of her son.
