Eric Binns, 1921-2011, taken on his 90th Birthday. Eric was a member, and also President, of Blackburn Camera Club for fifty years. Some of Eric's Blackburn photographs are now to be found on the Cotton Town website. Eric was born in Halifax, and reached the rank of Petty Officer in the Royal Navy before discharge in 1946. Eric spent his working life as an engineer at the Blackburn firm Foster, Yates and Thom. The company tried to adapt to a changing world by manufacturing footwear injection moulding machinery, and Eric travelled abroad to help install the machines.
