B04150. Blackburn Cathedral. In the foreground are the last remnents of the Old Bull Hotel, the origin of which goes back to the middle ages. Formerly known as the Black Bull, the first edifice was a half timbered Tudor Dwelling its upper storey was of oak framing filled with wattle and daub. The galleried courtyard was approached from Darwen Street. It was the town's chief coaching house. The town stocks stood where the two women standing on the right of the photograph. J. 2 Cat.
