Alston or cobden Street Mill, Gladstone Street. Blackburn. William Birtwistle's spinning factory, erected 1864-66 but not opened until 1873-74. Spinning ended in 1975, due to shortage of orders.rnThen partially occupied by footwear manufacturers. There is nothing much left except the outer wall.
