Appleby Corn Mill 002
b23115. Appleby’s Corn Mill was erected 1871-72 by Joseph Appleby. At that time they had ten pair of stones and employed 40 hands. After a fire in 1875 the mill was rebuilt shutting in 1968. On the opposite side of the road was a Locomotive shed which was home to the mills shunting engine. the photograph, looking from Stanley Street was taken 3 February 1981. M. 71 App.
