1. Cooper, Joseph 01
Rifleman Joseph Cooper, was reported missing on the 18th August 1916 after an engagement on the Somme. He had been a cotton spinner before the war at Albert Mill in Clayton-le-Moors. He left two orphan children who lived with his mother, Mrs J. Cooper, 28, Back Kemp Street. Joseph's name was listed on the Christ Church Roll of Honour.
