River Hodder, Whitewell 003
On 30th June 1906, the Spring Bridge at Whitewell collapsed. Two groups from Preston and Todmorden were enjoying a day out , when disaster struck. Whitewell was part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, but was transferred to Lancashire for administrative purposes on 1 April 1974.
