1. Costley, Fred

Private Fred Costley, King's Royal Rifles, severely wounded by shrapnel particularly in the knee. One of his companions and a fellow member of Lees Hall Football Club, Private John Charnock, was also in the same hospital at Sittingbourne, Kent. It was reported that Fred had been transferred to a hospital in Manchester and that he wished to pass on his kind regards to Mr & Mrs Lees.
