Withnell Station 001
b24289. Private approach road to the Station House at Withnell. The station was on the Blackburn to Chorley line run by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. The Blackburn, Chorley, Wigan line for passengers was closed In January 1960 together with the stations, but goods traffic continued to pass through the station until 1966, when the line closed completely. The area where the track once was is now a public footpath, and there is a nature reserve on the track bed Date of photograph is September 1981. N 34
