b24289. Private approach road to the Station House at Withnell. The station was on the Blackburn to Chorley line run by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. The Blackburn, Chorley, Wigan line for passengers was closed In January 1960 together with the stations, but goods traffic continued to pass through the station until 1966, when the line closed completely.
