Wellfield Mill 001
b22923. The second weaving shed at this mill was built in 1867-68 by James Astley and had 632 looms and employing 320 hands. Weaving ended in 1955-56, the Mill being used for the manufacture of plastic reels. The photograph, taken May 1979 shows the main entrance to the Mill which at the time belonged to Thomas Reeder..
