Victoria Mill, Nova Scotia. rnSpinning mill erected c 1841-42 by Thomas Bolton and Henry Hall handloom manufacturers. Associated housing included 27 on Bolton Road and 9, with cellar dwellings in Coburg Street. Partnership dissolved 1848, for a short period the mill was shared by Hall and Bolton. W.R Taylor, later of Enfield joined Bolton about 1850. shed for 322 looms added 1851-52 further extensions 1859. Thomas Bolton and Co , failed in 1883 and spinning ceased. The main five story block was demolished in 1891. The weaving shed was purchased by Thompson and Sons of Hollin Bank Mill. Leased 1887-92 to Davenport, Ross and Baron. manufacturers of Turkey red goods, shirtings and printers. Hall Street Mill co Ltd formed 1925. The Company was one of the first acquired by David Alliance in the mid 1950's. Operations at Victoria Mill ended 1967-58. Carpet manufacturing during 1960's. Now all that is left is the perimeter wall.
