Victoria Street 046
Early twentieth century view of Victoria Street, looking towards Church Street. The women and men smartly dressed suggests the photograph may have been taken on Saturday. The junction of Cort Street and Victoria Street can be seen on the left. On the right can be seen the three-day market in full swing. In the centre distance can be seen the chimney of 'Dandy Mill' (named from a type of early power loom) and what is now Blackburn Cathedral, but at the time was still St. Mary's Parish church.
