Town Hall Tower Block 033
b0468.The Town Hall Tower Block under construction. The cost of the project at the time was £650,000. The old Town Hall and tower block are connected by an elevated, enclosed footbridge. The tower block is about 198 feet (60 m) high with the top being 545 feet (166 m) 9 inches (23 cm) above sea-level. Since it was built it has been totally re-clad. In this photograph the old Town Hall is on the right with Marks and Spencer just visable in the Background. Date 4th December 1967 D. 52
