1950s aerial shot of Stanhill Ring-Spinning Mill, West End Oswaldtwistle. Ring Spinning was a continuous process of spinning the cotton thread, unlike the widespread (in Lancashire) mule spinning process which used an intermittent back and forth process of drawing the threads.
