Stanley House 001
jb4605. All though the date stone has been removed from the above entrance, Stanley House would appear to have been erected early in the 17th century. In the photograph (1954) it is partially in ruins, it is said anciently to have been the manor-house of Mellor. In the second half of the 17th century it was held by a branch of the Yates family. It is now an Hotel.
