b05167. Steam engine in Providence Mill Co., Prospect Mill, Darwen. It is a horizontal cross compound engine. Made by Ashton Frost and Co, Blackburn, in 1906. It has 17in and 30in by 4ft Corliss slide valves cylinders and is 350 h.p. 40 r.p.m. 150 p.s.i. The engine was scrapped in the 1960s. Date of photograph 1962. M. 209.
