The ship Empire Doric is on the left with the tug Lucas at its side.rnThe Opening of the dock took place on Saturday 25th June 1892 by Prince Albert, Duke of Edinburgh and the second son of Queen Victoria. The Basin, was 3000 feet long by 600 feet wide and was thernlargest single dock in Europe.
