Peel Fold 002
b04094. Peel Fold, Owaldtwistle. Is the reputed birthplace of the first Sir Robert Peel. Peel Fold is a typical farmstead of the 17th century. The Windows long and low divided by splayed mullions and surmounted by dripstones. To the right of the entrance is a large kitchen, once filled by handlooms and later the scene of block printing experiments. Before the Peels, it was held for generations by the Oldhams, and was known as Oldhams Cross. D. 41 Pee.
