Peppermint Place Refurbishment 023
img0590-030P. The smaller of the two rooms within Peppermint Place had carried the name Kaleidoscope for many years by the time it closed for refurbishment in early 1991. However, the name not just of the room itself but also of the two bars within it were retained post refurb. This shows Neon Bar soon after it reopened. No doubt inspired by the bar’s name, the design included this neon sign as a feature. Although it must have looked like a clever idea to whoever thought of it, the designers weren’t the ones who had to try and clean the mirror behind the fragile glass tubes!
