Peppermint Place Technotronic 011

img0627-031P. Peppermint Place Technotronic 011 img0627-031P Peppermint Place nightclub Peppermint Place nightclub; Kaleidoscope; Live Performances; Technotronic; DJ Booth; Crowds; Dancefloor; Staff A wider view taken from the opposite side of the dancefloor. Standing on the left inside the DJ booth, wearing the white shirt and dark tie, can be seen the diminutive figure of lighting jockey Ian Holden. A stalwart of the club for many years, he was fondly known as Lofty to everyone who worked there. At the time this photo was taken, he was the only person at the club qualified to use Kaleidoscope’s five-colour laser (see next photo.) Standing next to him, wearing the dark glasses and black jacket, is Kaleidoscope’s resident DJ. Known professionally as Gary Gee, he had nothing to do but wait for them to finish when artists were performing live. This probably explains why he looks rather distracted by something (or someone!) out of shot. 26/04/1991
