Grimshaw Park This weaving mill was built in 1878-79, on the site of Park Iron Works. with 717 looms. Its nick-name was "Heavens Gate". possibly because of its proximity to Christ Church. Thompsons ran the mill until closure in 1931=32. Renovated by Blackburn Industrial Development Committee and leased for clothing manufacture in mid 1930's. rnMike Rothwell.
