Old Bank 001
b05588. The doorway to the old Bank, on Old Bank Street. The bank was established in 1792 by Roger Cunliffe, father of John and James, who with a third brother Roger was associated with William Brooks in its extension, when its name was changed to Cunliffe Brook & Co. The door was massive and studded with round headed nails The bank later moved to to the corner of Higher Church Street and Darwen Street. It is now Lloyds T.S.B. Date of photograph 1951. M. 91 Old.
