b002178. Lord Street Showing the Old Post Office. It was opened in June 1880 and built to plans by Williams of London at a cost of about £7,000. It became the snooker hall with such players as Alec Higgins and Denis Taylor playing there. It was demolished in the 1960's to make way for the Town Centre Development. The photograph was taken in 1957. N. 61.
