Longridge Written Stone 001
b04416. The stone known as the written stone lies near the entrance of Cottam House Farm, Written Stone Lane Longridge. It is dated from the 17 century and is 9ft long, 2ft wide and 18in deep. The inscription reads:rn"RAVFFE: RADCLIFFE: LAID THIS STONE TO LYE FOR: EVER: A.D. 1655" E. 02 R. 41
