The left foreground shows New Market Street with New Market Buildings, next to that is Peel buildings with the statue of Robert Peel on the top. The next street is Town Hall Street with Albert Buildings on the corner. Straight infront is Library Street then comes Exchange Street. After this is the Town Hall, Market House with the Clock Tower and Time Ball. Note the fish stall on the side of the Market Hall. The picture also shows how near the country side was to the town centre. M. 83.
