An 1892 newspaper image of the proposed Conservative Working Men's Club. To be sited at the junction of Shadsworth Road and Accrington Road. At that time Blackburn was a hotbed of working-class Toryism, and such clubs were intended to bind that loyalty to the Conservative cause.
