Hollin Bank Mill 005
Hollin Bank spinning mill was built by Richard Thompson and Son's in 1859-60. In 1885 it had 52,000 spindles. in 1874 a boiler explosion killed 11 people. The mill became two seperate enterprises in 1901, a weaving Shed and Hollin Bank Ring Mill Ltd. The mill was re-equipped with 45,00 Howard and Bullough Ring Spindles. It shut in 1939 and the mill was demolished in the 1970'srnMike Rothwell
