Greenbank Mill 001
Greenbank Mill, Gladstone Street. Weaving Mill erected 1861-64 by the Blackburn Co-operative Cotton Spinning and Weaving Co. Ltd. In 1865 Robert Porter of Garden Street puchased the shed. Looms increased and by the late 1870's the firm became J and J A Porter.. Heavy losses in the 1970's saw the end of weaving at Greenbank in 1980. The mill was then used as a upholstery warehouse.rnMike Rothwell.
