b22624. Cicely Bridge Mill on the right, looking across the canal. the canal bridge is in the foreground with Alma mill Chimney on the left. Cicely Bridge Mill was built in 1861-63 by W.B. Dewhurst. In the 1870's there were some 30,780 mule spindles and 612 looms. By 1900 the sons of John Baynes ran the mill. the mill closed in the 1980's. Alma Mill was built in 1859 by Thomas Carr and James Leaver, it closed in 1979. M. 31 Cic.
