Carlisle Street Mill 003
Carlisle Street Mill, Audley. Small weaving shed built c 1862 by Mark Knowles and Christopher Higham of the adjacent Walpole Street Foundary. This mill has many tenants over the years, including R Whittaker Brothers and Co of Belthorn. James Dewhurst Ltd acquired the property in 1921. The Company whent into liquidation in 1936 and the mill closed. Later used for various non-textile purposes.
