Bridgewater Mill 001
Bridgewater Mill, Hart Street, Blackburn. Thomas Hart's spinning factory erected in 1861-62. sold to D and W Taylor 1877. later John Taylor 1893. After the 2nd World War, John Taylor Ltd, became part of J.Hoyle and sons, Burnley. The mill closed under the provisions of the 1959 Cotton Industry Act. Original factory completely demolished in 1962-3. Remains, modern building on site, some ruins along cnal side, single storey weaving shed type) extension survives.
